My senoir project sentence

Having lost my grandfather without having anyone to help me cope with the loss, made me realize that I might not be the only one that has gone through this, which has brought me to the decision of starting a support group at Chinquapin.

Update

Truthfully, I do not have a panel. I have asked Jan Ott if she would be willing to be part of my panel. I am trying to reach out to my mentors Linda Ho, Jennifer Epstein, and the college professor Ms. Sandra Lopez. My research hasn’t expanded much since the last blog. I did contact Rosita, the counselor here at Chinquapin, and she has recently gotten me in contact with a past college professor that specializes in grief. I am hopefully going to be e-mailing her to get more information on how grief works. I would write a proposal during Christmas break so that I can start having a support group here at Chinquapin. I would be contacting support group in Houston so that I can learn how to manage the support group. This will occur during the Christmas break.

Change

About a month ago when we started working on our scripts, I realized that a subject that i was trying to avoid was really what I was passionate about. I wanted to do something dealing with grief, in particular the loss of a loved one. As I sat down and thought of how hard it was for me to deal with my grandfathers' death, starting a support group came to mind at the school. When someone you love dies it can be hard to cope with the death, but with guidance and comfort one can learn to cope with the loss. I have recently been reading On Death and Dying  by Elizabeth Kubler Ross, the book has the five stages of death which go into depth. I am currently researching psychologist in the field of grief to speak to them and ask them a couple of questions, and if they have any advice for me in starting a support group at my school.

I am still looking for more psychologist to interview and get their inputs. For the mean time I am stuck because the information is opinion based and it has a lot of fluff.I have talked to a third grade teacher and she gave me permission to work with her class with projects that will encourage their imagination and creativity. I am working on a following date with the teacher.

Let it run

As the years go by I have noticed my little brother and little cousins imaginations have decreased, when they are asked to do projects and they are told to be creative they by the age of 12 they can not be as creative as when they where five. I want the children to and keep their imagination running as long as possible. A third grade teacher has allowed her class of nine and ten year old children to work on projects and be recorded and compared to a younger and older group of children on their level of imagination.

In the past weeks i have read articles on how childrens imagination has decreased as they grow older but the information i have read is mainly opinion based. I spoke to the school counselor and asked her if she had any knowledge and she said no but she did tell me that most of the information i will hear and read is goin to be opinion based since the subject isnt explored. She is also goin to ask other psychologist is they know anytin about childrens imagination decreased if and if they are willing to help me. I spoke to Tito and asked him if he can speak to his mentor who is a psychologist and if his mentor can help me. I also sat in three sessions that a film producer had on Friday and i spoke to him and he said if i have any questions or if i need help wit getting my video together he is more than willing to help me. Over all my project is okay but i need to get incontact wit psychologists as soon as posible.
